Spoon of Hope is a community feeding initiative putting bread and hot meals into the hands of children and families around Sky-City, Alberton — one table, one plate, one street at a time.
Spoon of Hope is run by a small, hands-on team of volunteers from the community — packing bread parcels, dishing up warm plates, and carrying them directly to the children and families who need them, right there on the dirt roads of Sky-City.
No queues at an office, no red tape — just a folding table, willing hands in orange, and enough food to make sure no child on that street goes without a meal that day.

Everything we do is built around getting real food into real hands, as often as we can manage it.
Loaves bought, bagged, and tied by hand into individual parcels, then handed out table-side to whoever is next in line — no forms, no delays.
Cooked plates — beans, pap, and whatever the pot allows that day — served straight onto the street to children and families waiting nearby.
We're a small, volunteer-run effort — every hand and every rand goes straight back into bread and hot meals.
